This paper presents a comprehensive overview on the current status of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) energy systems technology with deep insight into techno-energy performance. In recent years, SOFCs have received growing attention in scientific landscape high efficiency technologies. They are flexible, highly efficient, and environmentally sustainable. The working temperature makes it possible to work cogeneration, drive downstream bottomed cycles such as Brayton Hirn/Rankine ones, thus configuring hybrid system SOFC/turbine very electric efficiency. Fuel flexibility independent from pure hydrogen feeding, since hydrocarbons can be fed directly SOFC then converted rich stream by internal thermochemical processes. is also able convert carbon monoxide electrochemically, contributing production together hydrogen. much considered for being supplied biofuels, especially biogas syngas, so that biomass gasifiers/SOFC integrated contribute “waste energy” chain significant reduction pollution. deals analysis performance means ad hoc developed numerical modeling, relation main operating parameters.
